Erroneous Billing Practices | Apria review from Highland, Illinois

Apria continuously fails to send the supplementary insurance all the information requested for them to properly pay the bill after Medicare pays its share. The supplementary insurance company, upon receipt of the bill, requests Apria to send additional information (which is usually the line item information from Medicare - that which the supplementary insurance company does not receive from Medicare). All Apria does is resubmit their bill to the supplementary insurance company without the additional information and without calling the supplementary insurance company to find out exactly what they want. After three tries, they then bill the customer; if they have the customer's credit card, they automatically charge it; after three attempts to get the customer to pay the bill even though the customer does not have any responsibility yet (per supplementary insurance company) to pay that bill, Apria refers the bill to a collection agency. Apria refuses to do its job correctly and provide the required information to the supplementary insurance company. I have billed Apria for my services in getting their bill paid and they have yet to pay me. Perhaps I should refer this bill to a collection agency (it is now up to $2400.00 for all the times I've had to get involved in getting Apria to provide my supplementary insurance company all the required information).

Always provide the supplementary insurance company with the information they requested. Call them if you do not know exactly what they need.

Young lady from Apria contacted me and asked if I needed new supplies for my bipap machine. I told her that I could use all new supplies but only what was covered by insurance. She listed some items and I agreed. My supplies came within a few days and were delivered...

Go to Apria Medical instead. Very nice people, local service providers, copay is the same. Vastly preferable to Liberty Medical. Would highly recommend them, and would not hesitate to use them again should the need arise!

I have been a Cpap customer of Apria for about 4 years. I had BC/BS when I was working. I am now retired and on Medicare with a supplemental insurance. I have attempted to order supplies 6 or 7 times and been to my doctor twice to re document my need for supplies. Doctors office has contacted Apria at least 3 times to send correct order for supplies. As of today, Apria says they need more documentation to place the order. I am very frustrated with Apria because nothing has changed regarding my treatment and yet they will still not take my order. The only thing changed is my insurance and apparently that is the holdup. I guess I am stuck with no solution

I ordered sleep apnea supplies. I got a mask that did not go with my machine I called they sent a different mask, not the right one. I ended up with 3 of the wrong masks. at last I got the right one! I also ordered nose pillows but I got one that worked with the other masks but not mine! So I called again and was told I would get one the next day but they lied and lied. as soon possible I will find another company. it makes my life harder!! what is wrong with there customer service??

I got 3 or 4 wrong masks for sleep apnea. they did not fit my machine, they refuse to give me the stuff for my oxygen machine because I did not purchase it there.

No service on weekends. | Apria review from Wilmington, Delaware

Details
today is Saturday, my wifes regulator needs a seal, leaking very bad, we live 2 miles from one of your locations but they are not open on weekends, so how are people going to use their oxygen when they have to go out. We have ordered these seals before, and they only send 4 at a time. There are lots of appliances I can get parts and repairs done on Saturday, but not our oxygen. What a shame. IF I needed 100 words to explain my problem, then I think I better look for a different company to take care of such a small problem. there, at least 100 words.

The important thing here is that she still had a concentrator so she would not be without oxygen but to come out to deliver a washer so you can go out for a ride is not an emergency. Apria is open 24 hours 7 days a week but for emergencies not to deliver a washer, if her concentrator was broken they would troubleshoot the machine and if they did not get it going they would exchange it the same day, i have always had awesome service with them.
