After waiting months to get this matter taken care of and dealing with a ton of garbage we decided to file a small claims suit. Despite all the paper work Apria has provided saying their driver did the damage they are now denying it. So the judge will have his chance to tell them what a bunch of BS they have put us thru.

We have used Apria for almost 5 yrs now. All the drivers know not to pull into our drive due to a low hanging cable wire. In October we returned home from a long day of tests my terminally ill husband had to undergo at our local hospital. To our surprise our cable sire was laying in a puddle in our driveway and the front soffit/fascia area of our newly redone roof was hanging down. We called and reported it and were told we would receive a call back. NOTHING happened. In December I was in the office and confronted the driver. The manager said she would have the matter taken care of immediately. I just needed to get her 3 estimates and she was going to have someone come take pics of the damage.

Fast forward to February my husbands normal bimonthly delivery shows up and out pops the delivery guy with a portable camera and takes a few pics. REALLY???? After calling 32 different contractors I was finally able to get 2 companies to come out into the middle of nowhere (WE live in rural Iowa in a very small town which is an hour from any type of civilization)to give us estimates and found out the damage was more extensive than we thought. There is significant water damage which we were not aware of before the contractors visit.

Upon receiving the estimates the local manager stated those were great and she would be in touch in a few days.

Now I receive a phone call from a very rude insurance adjuster claiming they were just notified of the incident(2/21/13) and they will not be covering any of the water damage because we should have mitigated our damages and had the repairs done out of pocket. (Because everyone has $3000 laying around and we cannot afford home owners insurance like many others in the U.S.)

Needless to say the insurance company was told where they needed to go and we are now proceeding with court litigation if this is not resolved in the next 3 days.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND APRIA TO ANYONE. ESPECIALLY AN ILL OR ELDERLY PERSON WHICH IS UNABLE TO WATCH THE DELIVERY PERSONS EVERY MOVE.

Both my husband and I are disabled and not able to repair the damage they have done to our home. SO more damage is inevitable if they do not fulfill their obligation quickly. Never thought something this horrible could happen so easily.

Monetary Loss: $3467.
