Apria - Horrible crooks
About a year ago, my CPAP machine broke. I was unemployed so under different insurance and had to get my replacement machine through another company and ended up at Apria.
When I got the call from the company to come pick up my machine and for orientation, I specifically asked the person on the phone if it was covered by insurance. He assured me it was. I said to him, I didn't want a surprise bill 6 months later. I had a prescription so that I could buy a machine off amazon which would be cheaper but if it was covered by insurance, then that was fine.
I was assured it was. When I went in to pick up the machine and for orientation, I was once again assured it was covered by insurance. Fast forward 6 months, and sure enough, I get a bill for around $1300.00. When I called, they said they would put it through again.
A month later, I get another bill for 1300.00. I called again and the person said it wasn't covered by insurance. I argued that I was assured it was. She said they can't verify that on the front end and it was only after they learned.
I asked to speak with a supervisor. I got connected to a team lead who said the same thing so I asked to speak with management. I get sent to voicemail and before i could leave a message got disconnected. Not wanting to go through the whole thing all over again, I used company's website to send an email on two separate occasions and never got a return phone call or email and instead got sent to collections.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY CAN'T EVEN TELL ME HOW MUCH I WILL ULTIMATELY PAY FOR THE MACHINE.
WHAT RATIONAL HUMAN BEING WOULD PAY MORE TO RENT A MACHINE THEN THEY WOULD PAY TO OWN IT. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $1300.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
