Apria was my DME provider in 2013 when I was covered by Kaiser Permanente. The insurance benefits were horrible so I switched to Aetna Medicare. Apria was still my DME provider thru 12/31/2014.

In May of 2013 I had to rent a hospital bed. I made all of the payments while covered by Kaiser. When Aetna picked up, I was told the payments made under Kaiser did not count toward the 13 month ownership transfer. Aetna called for a 9 month plan. September of 2014 was the last payment billed and made by Aetna.

Now I have to get new coverage since Aetna did not issue new policies this year. When called with the new insurance information, Apria now claims the bed was not paid for by Aetna and they want to recover it.

I can not get a straight answer from anyone. Not Aetna, Apria or Medicare.

As for customer service, Apria has no clue what it is.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $1800.

Preferred solution: ownership of hospital bed clearly turned over to me and written apology.

Location: Nottingham, Maryland
